Graduate Profile

The Master's in Mechanical Engineering at UFOP aims to deliver innovative training in scientific and technological approaches to the subjects under study. This training is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the field, enabling them to:

  1. Acquire knowledge and proficiency in research techniques and the modeling of thermofluidodynamic systems and their energy transformations.
  2. Conduct applied studies and research on energy systems, processes, and equipment within industrial and commercial installations, with a focus on aspects related to their efficient utilization.
  3. Undertake applied studies and research in the areas of heat transfer and fluid mechanics as applied in the mining and metallurgy industry.
  4. Model and conduct experimental and numerical research on processes, energy systems, and energy storage.
  5. Familiarize themselves with computational simulation methods and tools aimed at identifying opportunities for improving the efficiency of energy systems.
  6. Gain an understanding of theories and tools for life cycle analysis of equipment, processes, and systems with a focus on sustainable development.
  7. Acquire knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly machining, to propose novel techniques for monitoring and enhancing processes.
  8. Understand material characterization processes to improve them and contribute to the development of new materials.
