The Master's in Mechanical Engineering at UFOP aims to deliver innovative training in scientific and technological approaches to the subjects under study. This training is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the field, enabling them to:

- Conduct applied studies and research on energy systems, processes, and equipment within industrial and commercial installations, with a focus on aspects related to their efficient utilization.
- Undertake applied studies and research in the areas of heat transfer and fluid mechanics as applied in the mining and metallurgy industry.
- Model and conduct experimental and numerical research on processes, energy systems, and energy storage.
- Familiarize themselves with computational simulation methods and tools aimed at identifying opportunities for improving the efficiency of energy systems.
- Gain an understanding of theories and tools for life cycle analysis of equipment, processes, and systems with a focus on sustainable development.
- Acquire knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly machining, to propose novel techniques for monitoring and enhancing processes.
- Understand material characterization processes to improve them and contribute to the development of new materials.
